The Effect of Parenting, Parents, and Health Characteristics on the Marital Satisfaction of Preschoolers Mother

|
The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing the parenting, marital characteristics, and health characteristics of preschool mothers on marital satisfaction. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, the data of a total of 609 preschool mothers who participated in the 7th year (2017-2018) survey of the Korean Longitudinal Survey of Women and Families(KLoWF) were analyzed using SPSS 25.0. As a result of the analysis, it was found that age, husband education level, husband's average monthly income, and family's economic status had a significant effect on general characteristics, and husband's satisfaction with sharing domestic labor and relationship with husband had a significant effect on parents characteristics. In health characteristics, depression was found to have a significant effect on marital satisfaction and the greatest effect among the influencing factors. Based on these research results, educational programs and various policies were proposed to help promote positive emotions in order to improve the marital satisfaction of preschool mothers. This study is meaningful in that it identified the influencing factors of marital satisfaction of mothers raising preschool children and discussed health and welfare policies to increase marital satisfaction.
